Opacity and hiding power

Pigments, which are the component of the coating material that provide the colour, are a major component of the total cost, although how big a fraction of the total product cost they contribute varies. For this reason, generally more expensive pigments are used as sparingly as possible just to achieve the desired hiding power. The hiding power will always be directly linked to the film application method and the film thickness.
