PaintExpo 2024 Trade fair impressions Erichsen GmbH & Co. KG

News was exchanged and new contacts were made in a pleasant atmosphere. PaintExpo 2024 was a complete success for us, not only because of the great interest we aroused with the presentation of our new ERICHSEN Scratch Stylus acc. to Sikkens model 463-Pro, the Heavy Duty Drive option for our CORROCUTTER Smart 638 sample cutter and the PAINT BORER TCG coating thickness gauges.

Our trade fair highlights:

Coating thickness gauges PAINT BORER TCG

Mech. opt. Coating thickness measurement using wedge cut method, drilling, up to 6000 µm

Coating thickness gauges PAINT BORER TCG

Discover the PAINT BORER TCG coating thickness gauge, specially designed for the precise measurement of "thick layers" up to 6000 µm. With the choice between analogue evaluation via magnifying glass (PAINT BORER TCG "analogue") or digital evaluation via software (PAINT BORER TCG "digital"), this device offers a reliable solution for measuring coating thicknesses on non-metallic substrates such as concrete, plaster, screed, wood and plastic.

Scratch Stylus acc. to Sikkens, Model 463-Pro

Hand-held tool for applying defined damages (scribes) on coated test panels; universally handy handle, guide wheel and a Sikkens cutting edge of 1.0 mm (both sides usable)

Scratch Stylus according to Sikkens Model 463-Pro

The Scratch Stylus acc. to Sikkens, Model 463-Pro is used to produce defined damages (scribes) on coated test panels to be used in corrosion tests, as, for instance, the Fog Spray Test acc. to DIN EN ISO 9227 with the ERICHSEN Corrosion Testing Apparatus, Models 606 and 608. This method provides a criterion for the evaluation of the extent or influence of corrosion underneath a coating and its effect on the adhesion. The length of the lateral damage underneath the coating serves as a measure of the corrosion protection factor.

ERICHSEN SmartPen

Scratch resistance of surfaces, hardness tester in modular and digital version, without test head, compatible with test heads of models 318/435

ERICHSEN SmartPen

The ERICHSEN SmartPen is used to determine the scratch resistance of surfaces; depending on the used module, it can be used to determine the resistance to scratching, the tendency towards metal marking and the durability of printed markings.

Scratch Hardness Tester LINEARTESTER 249 Smart (XL)

Multi-function device with LCD-Touchscreen, linear single stroke and double stroke, scratch, rub, wipe

Scratch Hardness Tester LINEARTESTER 249 Smart

The optimised scratch hardness tester LINEARTESTER 249 Smart can be used not only to determine the resistance of surfaces to scratching, but also for a variety of other purposes: scratch tests; double stroke abrasion tests; Crockmeter tests; MEK tests, solvent resistance tests in general or wipe tests.

Automatic sample milling machine CORROCUTTER Smart 638 incl. Heavy Duty Drive (Option)

For creating corrosion scribes, on very thick or high-strength coatings, e.g. heavy corrosion protection

Automatic sample milling machine CORROCUTTER Smart 638 HD

The optional Heavy Duty (HD) equipment is recommended for creating corrosion scribes with very thick or high-strength coatings, e.g. heavy corrosion protection. This is a robust milling spindle with higher stiffness and a more powerful drive for difficult-to-cut coatings. This option can be retrofitted to existing systems (the sample hold-down device for Mod. 638 Smart cannot be used together with the HD option). With the HD option, the lifetime of the milling cutters can be increased, thereby improving the output of samples with special requirements.

SCRATCH HARDNESS TESTER 430 P-Smart

Automatic cross-cutting tool, scratch test & writing effect for automotive plastics

SCRATCH HARDNESS TESTER Model 430 P-Smart

The electromotive SCRATCH HARDNESS TESTER 430 P-Smart is an all-purpose tester for the scratching and cutting jobs of all kinds on paint coats and plastic surfaces. Individual cuts, parallel cuts and (after rotating the sample 90°) also cross-hatch cuts can all be made onto test plates of different thicknesses. The scratch hardness tester 430 P-Smart is specially designed for adhesion tests (using the cross-hatch method, according to all common standards) and for special plastic tests according to Opel (scratch resistance and writing effect). There are many adjustment options on the basic unit as well as a wide range of testing tools available for this and further tests. The scratch hardness tester 430 P-Smart results in a significant reduction in workload when you are carrying out series tests. The test results are reproducible and meaningful.

CrossScan 295/XVI

Automatic Cross Hatch Cut Rating System with Evaluation Software

Automatic Cross Hatch Cut Rating System CrossScan 295/XVI

The Automatic Cross Hatch Cut Rating System CrossScan 295/XVI closes the user dependency from the valuation transaction. CrossScan 295/XVI consists of a handy dome for placing on the crosshatch pattern to be evaluated; equipped with camera, LED lighting and potentiometer for intensity control of lighting (5% - 100%). The evaluation takes place via the included software (PC not included).

Corrosion tester model 606 / 300-Basic

Corrosion test chamber with a usable volume of 300 litres for corrosion tests, salt spray tests and condensation tests in basic version

Corrosion Tester Model 606 / 300-Basic

The compact Corrosion Testing Instrument, Model 606-Basic, to perform salt spray and condensation tests, is made of impact resistant, eco-friendly polypropylene material and is delivered in a rectangular design. It consists of a test chamber, available either of 400 l, 1000 l or 2000 l capacity, and a built-in control unit as well as an external storage tank for the spray. The control unit is equipped with the necessary control instruments. The test chamber can be opened manually. A dosing pump serves for an infinitely variable adjustment to achieve optimum consumption of spray solution. The external storage tank for approx. 200 l salt solution allows continuous testing without attention over a period of up to a week. The scope of supply of each test chamber includes three specimen holders for weathering panels. For testing small quantities or small test specimens, the user has access to a corrosion testing apparatus in a modular design (cabinet unit) with 300 l test chamber volume. The large, transparent access door allows easy mounting of specimens, which may e.g. be hung from the delivered sample rods, to be exposed to aggressive salt spray for a certain period of time. The integrated control unit with storage tank (about 125 l) is located in the base unit.

TABER® ABRASER 352

TABER rotary abraser for abrasion testing, the only device available worldwide

TABER Abraser 352

Resistance to abrasion is one of the most important mechanical properties of surfaces. Among the methods used to test abrasion resistance, working with the TABER® ABRASER is the most common and widely used method. Numerous national and international standards make explicit reference to this test instrument. The Original TABER® ABRASER can be used to perform abrasion tests on paintwork and other coatings, such as rubber, paper, leather, ceramics, textile fabrics and metals. This device is used in research and development as well as in production and quality control.
